Q.How Long is a Will Good for?
A.A Will stays in effect until it is revoked. An individual can revoke a Will at any time by intentionally (purposely) tearing it up, shredding it, burning it, or destroying it. A subsequent marriage, divorce or dissolution of marriage, birth or adoption of a minor child may in some cases revoke a Will, unless the Will contains a provision to cover such occurrences. A will should be reviewed, and possibly revised, at least once every five years.
