Q.Can a living trust hold both separate and community property?

A.Yes. In fact, spouses (and domestic partners) typically only need to create a single trust (a family revocable living trust). Although registered domestic partners (at least in California) have many of the same rights as married couples. federal tax law does not provide the same tax benefits for domestic partners as it does for spouses.
