Q.Is a Revocable Living Trust a public document?

A.No. A trust is not recorded, and therefore, not a public document. A Revocable Living Trust is, however, sent to the beneficiaries and heirs once it becomes irrevocable (upon the death of the person who created the Trust). Wills, on the other hand, do become public documents. Upon the death of the person who wrote the Will, the Will must be recorded in your local county.
