A.Trade dress is a type of trademark that is used to identify and distinguish products or goods. While trademarks are comprised of words, names, symbols, etc.., trade dress is a product's packaging, shape and overall appearance. When the product's appearance is used to distinguish and identify the goods in commerce, it may be protectable trade dress.
