Q.Should I notify my bank about a signed durable power of attorney?

A.Yes. Once the power of attorney has been executed (signed), you should send a copy to your bank, and any other businesses with whom you have empowered your named attorney-in-fact (agent) to deal. Be sure to ask if they will honor the document as some banks, insurance companies, pension plans and tax authorities require you to sign their own durable power of attorney form.
