Q.How much does it cost to set up a pet trust?

A.There are a multitude of personal factors that will ultimately determine the cost. However, we will attempt to provide a guideline. First, there are the attorney fees which will range anywhere from $750 to $1,500 (depending on where you live). Second there will be a yearly administrative cost, a fee paid to a trustee to monitor your designated caretaker to ensure your pet is being properly cared for. Third, you will have to set aside from your estate sufficient funds to care for your pet which we estimate at $750 to $2,000 annually.
