Q.What Can a landlord say about a current or former tenant?

A.A landlord should never provide his or her opinion. The landlord should limit his or her answers to verification of facts. If the tenant paid on time, say so; if the tenant did not pay on time, say so only if you have written records to validate the fact that the tenant was late.
