Q.Why should I purchase homeowner’s insurance?
A.A homeowner's insurance policy primarily provides two basic types of coverage: (1) property insruance and (2) liability insurance. Property insurance typically provides coverage when there is damage to the land, home, or contents in the home from things like theft, vandalism, fire, or wind storms. Personal liability insurance typically provides coverage for injuries that might occur on the property due to negligence.
Many homeowner’s insurance policies will also provide limited amount of medical coverage to cover medical and related expenses resulting from an injury that occurred on the insured’s property.
The coverage limit, however, is typically limited to between $1000 and $5000.
So why purchase this protection? Because accident’s occur and today few people can afford to self-insure.
