Q.Can the closing date for the escrow be extended?

A.Yes if both the buyer and seller agree and both sign a written authorization to extend the closing to the escrow company. If the seller no longer wants to sell the property, however, the seller can refuse to extend the time for closing. If the seller still wants to sell the property, the seller can execute a joint instruction with the buyer to extend the closing date or negotiate with the buyer for an increase in the deposit.
