Q.We get 5 holidays off each year without pay. My sister gets the same 5 holidays off with pay. Does my employer have to me for these holidays?

A.No. California law does not require employers to pay their employees for holidays that are not worked. California law also does not require the employer to pay its employees a premium for mandatory work on a holiday.
