Q.Does my employer have to pay me for an on-duty meal or lunch?
A.Yes. California employers are required to pay the employee at the employee’s regular rate of pay for any on-duty meal period.
Unless the employee is relieved of all duties during the required 30 minute meal period, the meal period is considered "on duty."
