A.Some states ignore small amounts of money earned. Usually, however, income received is deducted from your unemployment benefits. Most states reduce or stop unemployment benefits in those weeks in which the unemployed worker received disability benefits, severance pay or other types of income. However, your benefit period will typically be extended accordingly.
