Q.How can I prove the “date of first use” of my domain as a service mark?

A.To establish a record of your use of a domain name, you should archive copies of the website that display your domain name and any other trademarks or service marks. You can do this by copying the files contained on the website and storing them on a CD.

Since computer records can be easily erased and re-recorded, you may want to take the added precaution of sending the original archived copies to a third party who could later testify, should the need arise, as to the date of your CD.
