Q.After a deed is signed and notarized, what do I do with it?

A.The deed should be recorded with the county recorder's office (a.k.a. Registrar of Deeds, Land Registry Office) where the property is located. To record the deed, all you need to do is take it down to the recording office and hand it over to the clerk with the appropriate recording fee and the clerk will date stamp it, make a copy, and give the original back to you.
