Q.How can I find out what is happening with my registration?
A.Your copyright registration will be effective on the day the Copyright Office receives the appropriate form, copy of your work, and the $30 filing fee. The Copyright Office will not provide status information for submissions received less than eight months ago (the average time to receive a certificate), without the payment of a fee.
If you must have this information sooner, you may request that the Certifications and Documents Section conduct an in-process search. The current in-process search fee is $65 per hour.
