Q.How do I register a copyright?

A.To register a work with the U.S. Copyright Office, you need to submit a completed application form, a non-refundable filing fee of $30, and a non-returnable copy of the work being registered (The deposit requirements vary in particular situations) to:

To get application forms, go to http://www.loc.gov/copyright/ or call: 202-707-9100.

Before filing, we strongly suggest you consult an attorney to ensure you have filed the proper form and in the right manner. The Copyright Office will not review your registration application for irregularities.
