Q.How does the homeowners association determine how many votes each homeowner can cast?

A.Typically the number of votes each homeowner can cast will be stated in the governing documents- Articles, Bylaws, and CC&R's, (Declaration of Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions). If the governing documents are silent on the issue, the law presumes that each unit has one vote of equal weight, regardless of the size of a unit or lot.
