Q.Can the homeowners override a decision by the board, a board committee, an officer or manager?

A.The homeowners in a condominium or townhous development generally cannot override a board, committee, officer or manager decision. If the homeowners are unhappy with a board decision, they can convene a meeting, vote to remove one or more directors, and hope the replacement directors make better decisions.

Alternatively, one or more homeowners can challenge any board, committee, officer or manager decision through litigation or arbitration on the basis that the decision was unreasonable, made in bad faith, and/or is not in compliance with formally established policies or procedures.
