Q.What are Condominium Bylaws?

A.Condominium bylaws are one of three governing documents that govern the homeowners association ("HOA"). The condominium bylaws describe how the HOA is to manage the condominium development. Bylaws vary widely in content and length, but usually include: (1) the number and method of selecting the directors and officers; (2) the procedures for notice, meetings and voting procedures for the homeowners and the Board; and (3) the HOA's record keeping and reporting requirements. Unlike the Articles and the Declaration of Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions ("CC&Rs"), the bylaws are not recorded or filed with any government agency, and this makes them easier to change.
